Permits and cost


Two permits are required for the Gorepani Poonhill Trek

1.  TIMS Card (Trekking Information Management System )
NRS 1,000 per person for organized treks through a trekking agency (a permit is blue in color)
NRS 2,000 per person for independent trekkers (going without a guide or porter) (a permit is green in color)

Those who want to do the trek with a trekking agency must provide one photograph and do not need to be present in person at the permit counter. If you are trekking with a trekking agency, they can obtain the permits for you.

Those who want to do the trek individually must provide two photographs and each person in your group needs to be present at the permit counter.
You have to visit one of the offices listed below with friends in your group; you cannot apply on your friends' behalf.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Exhibition Road, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Dam Side, Pokhara

Office hours are officially 10 am to 5 pm, with a lunch closure usually between 1 pm and 2 pm.

2. Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP)
NPR 3,000 per person. It is easily obtainable at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu or the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) office in Pokhara

TIMS gives information to trekkers on how to safeguard their safety and regulate the trekking sector.
